DESCRIPTION

The sixth IMM Annual Report “FLEGT-licensed and VPA partner timber products trade 2020” combines key conclusions of IMM surveys with trade flow analysis to assess the market position of FLEGT-licensed timber products in EU27+UK countries, and more broadly of VPA partner timber products in global trade in 2020. The report includes an assessment of the extent to which existing policy instruments and marketing initiatives in EU27+UK countries promote a favourable market position for FLEGT-licensed timber and includes recommendations to enhance effectiveness. Given the extraordinary market situation in 2020, the report gives special consideration to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on FLEGT-licensed and wider VPA partner timber trade flows during the year and identifies some key policy implications.
